This seminar explores the role of traditional Asian instruments in contemporary music practices. Led by Huey Ching Chong, the session delves into the fusion of ancient sound worlds with modern compositional languages, offering insights into extended techniques, cultural symbolism, and creative reinterpretation within new music contexts.

In this performance, musical graphics, colors, and abstract forms intersect — transforming into movement, sound, and light through a multidimensional and simultaneous creative language. Rooted in the spirit of the times and guided by a metaphor rising from the sea and from Asia, the performance journeys into the mythical and the mysterious:

With her twisted smile and terrifying laugh, Nure Onna—or Nure Onago—is not the ordinary woman she appears to be. Should you cross her path and be tempted to share in her laughter, you may find yourself the target of her unleashed fury. And she shows no mercy.
